Community projects
Work for the Dole
The Central Coast Community Network and Workwise were instrumental in allocating a Work for the Dole Team to assist with light construction and maintenance projects throughout 2004 and 2005. This resource of labour was a critical factor in meeting our objectives during this period.

Projects included: -
- Constructing the Rock Wallaby enclosures and habitats, necessary for the commencement of the Endangered Central BTRW Recovery Breeding Program.
- Erection of a 400 metre enclosure fence, including gateways.
- Regenerated vegetation and laying turf within sections of the enclosures, to provide a feed source.
- Conducted pest weed control within enclosures.
- Constructed storm water control deviations, earthen and piped.
- Installed irrigation plumbing and piped water to service water troughs.
- Constructed treated timber stairs and boardwalks to provide safe access for the Team of volunteer Keepers who look after the animals.
- Constructed gravity fed Lucerne chaff dispensers and pellet feeders.
- Constructed "hides" for the Wallabies, utilizing industrial waste paper cylinders.
- Brush and spray painting of all man made objects.
- Assisted in trapping wallabies for veterinary inspection.
- Assisted in attending to maintenance of animal enclosures.
- Assisted with mechanical repairs to WFS vehicle (remove and replace transmission).
- Assisted with general maintenance chores.
